What is a biotype?

A Biotype is the sum of features that physicians should consider when deciding on a diagnosis treatment plan for a patient.

There are many specialized units in the human body. These units are hierarchically ordered as systems, organs, tissues, cells, and organelles, and they work in tandem (harmony) for the whole. A unit often compensates for other disorders in maintaining the body's balance (known as homeostasis). This balance or equilibrium point is not the same for everyone; it depends on the individual's biotype. A biotype includes family history, genetic background, lifestyle and habits, allergies, diseases, test results, medications, surgical interventions, and environmental interactions. For instance, the therapeutic options for a biotype with diabetes alone differ from those for a biotype with diabetes plus hypertension or smoking.
